Welcome to the Concepts in Islamic Economics and Finance (”CIEF”) blog. The blog provides an informal environment for mutual learning of the basic concepts in Islamic economics and finance.
Islamic economics and finance is a rich field — richer than most realize. The field also holds many implications relevant to those of us who live in a non-Islamic economic system and strive to follow what our deen requires of us. A basic understanding of the concepts in Islamic economics and finance ensure that we do not fall into the forbidden areas in our day-to-day lives.
We base posts primarily on the writings of reputable scholars in the field. We will also include useful information from various online resources. We also add our own insights regularly to further explain or contextualize what has been said.
As the blog grows, so will our contributors, inshaAllah.

A few questions from a blog idiot
How do you keep the spammers from eating you alive? i\’ve seen blogs with nothing but spam postings.
How do you keep some left wing extremist from posting racist or defamatory rhetoric? and if you cant stop them, what are you legally liabel when they do?
can viruses be posted to blogs?
